Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a method of treating very fine varicose veins and intradermal spider veins (telangiectasia, venulectasia). This method involves the introduction into the vascular lumen of special preparations, which cause shrinkage of vascular wall and local, controlled, inflammation. This leads to the closure and fibrosis of the vessel - and it becomes no longer visible. The procedure is performed in an outpatient setting with the use of very fine needles, which makes it almost painless. After the procedure, it is necessary to wear compression stockings for about a week. In some cases, to obtain the proper effect, it is necessary to repeat the procedure.
