Excess chin fatty tissue removal

Definition : Excess chin fatty tissue removal may be performed using different following methods. Injection lipolysis (few injections of lecithin, a soy preparation which dissolves excess fat stored in the cells). The released fat is absorbed by macrophages and metabolic liver fat metabolism. Such procedure are performed using EMLA cream anesthetic. The final results after approximately 6 weeks. Usually, 3 to 4 such procedures are performed within time intervals no shorter than 6 weeks. The scope of this procedures may be extended for lower face fragments.
Another procedure allowing excess chin fatty tissue reduction is liposuction using the Vibrolipo apparatus or a Smartlipo laser. Both methods smash the fatty tissue and remove it. The procedure is singular and usually after a few weeks ensures a permanent cosmetic effect.

Surgical technique : The liposuction procedure is usually performed under general anesthetic or in intravenous anesthetic. Both sides of the jaw and the middle of the chin area are cut (0.08 to 0.12 inch). Then the fatty tissues is being injected with a solution reducing bleeding and preparing the fatty tissue for liposuction. After removing the fat a bandage is placed as well as a tourniquet for approximately 2 weeks. The patient remains under observation for a few hours or up to a day. After this period massage must begin so as to properly constrict the skin and assure a good cosmetic effect.
