Osteochondromas
Osteochondromas are the most common benign form of bone neoplasias, common in children and adolescents, in the form of a painless excrescence which may grow to a significant size, mainly at the epiphyses of long bones. This disorder is associated with the risk of bone fractures and deformations and, in ca. 1-2% of cases, of transition into a malignant neoplastic form. Surgical treatment consists of the removal of the excrescence and histopathological examinations of the specimen.
