Education: Second degree specialisation in the field of surgery, professor, holder of a PhD in medical sciences.

Member of the Society of Polish Surgeons, Polish Society for Gastroenterology and Polish Society for Oncological Surgery.
Experience: Postdoctoral fellow and lecturer at the Surgery Clinic of the Medical Centre for Postgraduate Education in Warsaw, Head of Surgery Department in Bielański Hospital in Warsaw, Head and Manager of General and Gastrointestinal Tract Surgery Clinic of the Medical Centre for Postgraduate Education in Warsaw.

National consultant in the field of general surgery (1994-1998), member of the Council of the Polish Society for Emergency Medicine, member of the Society for Multiple Organ Injuries at the Polish Ministry of Health.
Enjoys great authority in the scientific and medical circles. Supervisor of post-doctoral and PhD programmes in the field of surgery. Author and co-author of 367 scientific publications. Awarded many distinctions, including: Krzyż Kawalerskiego Odrodzenia Polski and Złoty Krzyż Zasługi.

Hobbies: Kayaking, especially on Czarna Hańcza river, singing in a choir.
