LUX MED is about to open its 15th clinic for the 15th anniversary of the company’s launch

The new clinic is also the first objective in the execution of the new business strategy of LUX MED and Medycyna Rodzinna Group.

The new clinic

The new multi-specialty clinic, boasting the space of over 1400 square meters, is located at Al. Stanów Zjednoczonych 72 in Warsaw. It consists of a general clinic located on the first floor of Praska Gallery shopping mall, and a paediatric ward located on the ground floor. The paediatric clinic consists of two separate units, for healthy children and sick children.

In the clinic, there are 34 doctor's offices and procedures rooms and a fully equipped occupational medicine suite. Our patients can consult many specialists, for example allergists, surgeons, internists, dermatologists, endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, gynaecologists, haematologists, cardiologists, neurologists, ophthalmologists and orthopaedists.

Moreover, the clinic offers the possibility of conducting a wide range of medical tests, including ultrasound, X-ray, lab tests, audiometry and spirometry.

The clinic will be open for patients from Monday through Friday from 8 am to 8 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am to 4 pm.

"The new clinic not only continues our existing business strategy, but it is also a beginning of our new strategy. Basing on a detailed analysis of the market, including consumer research, we have taken decisions on the further development of LUX MED and Medycyna Rodzinna", says Anna Rulkiewicz, President of the Board of LUX MED and Medycyna Rodzinna.

The Group's Strategy

Opening of the new clinic coincided with the adoption of a new business strategy for the two merging companies, LUX MED and Medycyna Rodzinna. The new investor, Mid Europa Partners, managed to accumulate 100% of shares of LUX MED and 96% of Medycyna Rodzinna at the end of 2007. Mid Europa Partners has approved the new strategy, prepared by the Management Boards of the two companies, opening a new level in their market expansion.

The two companies will offer their products on the market under two brands. As before, LUX MED will cater mostly to the needs of corporate clients and individual clients who expect the highest quality of service. Meanwhile, Medycyna Rodzinna is going to use LUX MED'S know-how to develop an offer targeted for the less-demanding corporate clients. Medycyna Rodzinna is going to continue its cooperation with the National Health Fund, while both companies are also planning to intensify their cooperation with insurance companies.

LUX MED and Medycyna Rodzinna currently boast the biggest network of proprietary clinics (32 in total) and partner clinics (over 800) which are located throughout Poland. Development of the network is one of the major points of the new strategy. Only in 2008, LUX MED plans to open as many as seven new clinics. They will be located in Warsaw (apart from the new Clinic at Al. Stanów Zjednoczonych, LUX MED is also going to open a paediatric clinic), Gdynia, Krakow and Wrocław. LUX MED is also going to open new clinics in medium-size towns. First steps in this direction will be made in the coming months, with the opening of a clinic in Bydgoszcz, and later on - in Opole. The opening of a clinic in Olsztyn is scheduled for late 2008/early 2009 and new clinics in Lublin and Toruń are going to open in early 2009. LUX MED'S growth strategy also includes continuous development of the clinic network in bigger cities, so as to match the clients' growing demand for medical services.

A new clinic of Medycyna Rodzinna in Katowice is going to open in 2008. At the same time, the existing clinics of Medycyna Rodzinna are going to be modernized in order to improve both the patient comfort and staff working conditions. The clinics are also going to be revamped as far as the décor is concerned, to adjust to the new standards of visual identification adopted by the company. One of the competitive advantages of the LUX MED and Medycyna Rodzinna Group is diagnostics, offered by LUX MED itself, as well as by AVI and FADO companies. AVI owns two magnetic resonance scanners and a computer tomography scanner, while FADO is Poland's biggest mobile diagnostics company. It offers mammography, haemodynamics and lithotripsy (ESWL). FADO owns a fleet of 8 mammo-buses and a lithotripter that enables non-invasive treatment of kidney stones (ESWL). The company also operates an Invasive Cardiosurgery Clinic in Bydgoszcz. The strategy outlines plans of growth for both companies (for example the purchase of new mammo-buses for FADO and a CT scanner for AVI). In the nearest future, FADO will put into operation a state‑of-the-art mobile MRI scanner. The excellent back-office facilities, a dedicated and highly professional team, and the know-how, make very promising foundations for the future growth of the diagnostic services. This direction of growth is also emphasized in the Group's strategy. The Group plans to:

- launch 2 diagnostic centres (in Poland's biggest cities)
- open an Injury Diagnostic Centre in LUX MED clinic at ul. Racławicka in Warsaw

Furthermore, a privileged position in the strategy for 2008-2010 is occupied by the construction of a hospital. The project has already been accepted, and the construction works can now be launched. The company is going to build a multi-specialty hospital with approximately 120 beds. The hospital will be located in Warsaw, on the border of two central districts - Mokotów and Ochota.

The new strategy aims to strengthen the Group's position as the market leader in the field of providing comprehensive medical services to corporate clients, individual clients, insurance companies and the National Health Fund.

Already today, LUX MED and Medycyna Rodzinna are fully capable of providing medical care not only to the employees of their corporate clients, but also to their families, their children and parents. For instance, LUX MED offers prophylactic programmes matching the patients' gender, age and lifestyle, such as "Healthy Woman", "Healthy Man" and "Healthy Manager", as well as a comprehensive programme of gynaecological care for women, including pregnancy care. Catering to the needs of children is equally important. To this end, LUX MED works on the development of a network of paediatric clinics. However, the Group's investment plans include not only the establishment of new clinics, but also the introduction of new IT tools, which will improve the quality of service and the versatility of their product offer. Owing to the new IT solutions, the clients will be able to benefit from new facilities, such as online booking and online consulting. Teleradiology services are going to be continuously improved, while great emphasis is placed on telemedicine in the product offer. The new IT applications are going to enable the clients to access the detailed analyses and reports, which are very much appreciated by the employers. They will also facilitate a better identification of the clients needs and adjusting the offer to their expectations. The improvement of the doctors' working conditions and comfort is also a part of the strategy. In the process of creation of the new IT tools, greatest emphasis has been placed on providing maximum security. These actions are taken with prudence, basing on the newest technological solutions, as well as the existing standards and binding legal regulations.
